FOREVER FRIENDS

Sasha my agent out here in Moscow, took me and the BF out for a trip around one of the coolest neighbourhoods in Moscow, in the Patriarch’s Ponds. You know I love anything cultural and hip. While making the rounds along the cobbled streets filled with small boutiques and “hipster/arty farty” shops we ended up at a cafe sweetly named Friends Forever.

“HIPSTER” MARKET MOSCOW

This sunday I peeled myself from my balcony and crossed the bridge over to the Red October for the Summer Sunday vintage market. Hipsters and vintage culture is in-vogue in Moscow. You can imagine the outfits that came out and the little knick knacks that turned a simple parking lot into a time capsule of design and fashion.

SCANDANAVIA SUN

After a busy weekend and i mean reaaaal busy ( worked weekend six o clock shift and did a reporting job in between all of that). I was sleep deprived and socially deprived. It was time to take the load off and have a drink under the Moscow sun. The place of choice was Swedish resturant in Pushkinskaya, SCANDANAVIA.

SHINOK RESTURANT – REVIEW

While my friend Samira was visiting, she wanted a little taste of Soviet Russia. We decided to try SHINOK. As if Moscow’s themed dining wasn’t already over the top, this restaurant has re-created a Ukrainian peasant farm in central Moscow.

A TASTE OF RUSSIAN CAVIAR

Caviar, a delicacy once reserved strictly as a royal snack, is readily available for mere mortals like myself and others in Moscow’s supermarkets (perhaps a bit high brow yet accessible). According to experts ” Caviar from the rivers of Russia had always been considered premium”. I got a taste of it.

THE WINTER SOUP

One of my RT mates made this wonderful soup during one of the coldest days in Moscow. As you know temperatures in Europe have plummeted and we’re experiencing some of mother natures meanest days, with snow and blizzards in some

MOSCOW CULINARY EXPEDITION

I had my first taste of Russian culinary expedition in the office. What was on the menu, Ossetian pies! Ossetian pies are large round pastries, filled with meat, cheese, potatoes or greens and very popular in Russia’s Caucasus region. They are apparently their answer to the ubiquitous pizza. (Not sure who would want to replace pizza!).
